Teresa L. Zuber
Practice Focus

Ms. Zuber’s practice focus is in the areas of attorney malpractice, business litigation, insurance coverage and constitutional law.  She has substantial successful appellate experience, and was the attorney of record in several published state and federal appellate opinions.

Ms. Zuber is licensed to practice law in the States of California and New York, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California, the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  She also serves as an experienced mediator for the Appellate Mediation Program for the Third District of California Court of Appeals.

Professional History

Ms. Zuber began her practice in 1992 at Bronx Legal Services in New York representing indigents in housing and public benefits matters.  In 1994 she joined the firm of Hanson, Boyd, Culhane & Watson, where she represented attorneys in malpractice, malicious prosecution and defamation cases. 

From 1997 to 1999 she worked at Downey, Brand, Seymour and Rohrer, litigating cases involving constitutional, commercial, environmental, real estate, and public entity law.  Since then, she has practiced independently, handling such matters as civil rights, business litigation, personal injury, and land use development.  She has drafted chapters on breach of contract, trade secrets, regulating discovery, and non-jury trials for legal treatises.

Education

Ms. Zuber received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984.  She studied French and postgraduate physics in France at the University of Paris, Sorbonne and Orsay.  She subsequently performed research in magnetic resonance imaging at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she co-authored various publications, including a glossary for a comprehensive text on magnetic resonance imaging. 

Ms. Zuber attended Hofstra University School of Law, where she graduated with distinction in 1991, and was on the Hofstra Law Review.

Personal

Ms. Zuber grew up in the mountains of southern New Mexico and the west Texas desert. She enjoys dance, camping, travel, and literature. She has lived in France and Mexico, and speaks fluent French and Spanish. She currently lives in Sacramento with her husband and daughter.
