Professional History
Mr. Spence joined Ellis, Coleman, Poirier, LaVoie & Steinheimer, LLP in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, he gained experience working in the areas of business litigation, public entity defense, premises liability, and personal injury matters. Mr. Spence is admitted to practice in all California courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Education
Mr. Spence graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Upon entering Berkeley he received the Alumni Scholar award for scholastic and leadership achievements. He obtained his law degree from the McGeorge School of Law in 2006 and passed the California Bar that same year. At McGeorge, Mr. Spence was a member of the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society, and graduated with Distinction. Additionally, Mr. Spence was a member of the McGeorge Mock Trial Competition team, which allowed him to compete against other law schools and to conduct mock trial demonstrations at McGeorge. Also, Mr. Spence was an Associate Articles Editor for the Pacific-McGeorge Global Business Development Law Journal, and was a staff member of the Journal prior to joining the editorial staff.
