Mr. Reeves is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on general civil litigation and complex litigation in matters involving class actions, legal malpractice defense, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act defense.

Mr. Reeves defends attorneys sued for legal malpractice, and defends businesses in multi-million dollar consumer class actions. Mr. Reeves also handles a variety of matters for business and commercial clients relating to real property. He prosecutes unlawful detainer actions and judicial foreclosures, and has handled all aspects of the non-judicial foreclosure process as a foreclosing trustee.

Mr. Reeves also represents creditors in bankruptcy court by obtaining relief from the automatic stay, prosecuting adversary proceedings, and objecting to bankruptcy discharges where necessary.

Professional History

Prior to joining the Ellis Law Group LLP in 2008, Mr. Reeves practiced as a litigation associate at Greene, Chauvel, Descalso & Minoletti, in San Mateo, California, where he handled a variety of complex business and consumer matters in state and federal court, and in arbitrations before JAMS and AAA. While at Greene Chauvel, he also represented produce clients before the United States Department of Food and Agriculture (USDA) on licensing and collection matters arising under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act of 1930 (PACA).

Mr. Reeves is a member of the California State Bar admitted to practice in all state courts, and he is admitted to practice in all U.S. District Courts in California.

Education

Mr. Reeves received undergraduate degrees in political science and history from the University of California, Davis, in 1998. He graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2005. During law school, Mr. Reeves served as a judicial law clerk at the Santa Clara County Superior Court for the Hon. Socrates P. Manoukian, while simultaneously serving as the editor in chief of Santa Clara University's law school newspaper, The Advocate.
