Ms. Heaton is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on litigation in matters of business law, commercial law and intellectual property law.
Professional History
Ms. Heaton joined Ellis Law Group LLP in 2010 following her admission to the California State Bar. While attending law school, she worked as a law clerk for the Sacramento firm Veda Counsel, where she assisted in the litigation of commercial law and intellectual property law cases.
Before coming to Sacramento from Milwaukee, Wis. in 2006, Ms. Heaton worked two years as an office assistant for the intellectual property group of the international law firm Foley & Lardner LLP. In this position, which she held two years while attending undergraduate school, Ms. Heaton was involved with patent and trademark cases.
Ms. Heaton is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Courts of California’s Central, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts.
Education
Ms. Heaton received her Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2006. She received her Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 2009.
