Women Lawyers of Sacramento
June Coleman is 2008 President of Women Lawyers of Sacramento. Founded in 1962, this professional association advocates legislative changes to benefit women and children, supports candidates for judicial and other public appointments, and sponsors events for members to meet other attorneys, judges and legislators.

National Business Institute
Mark Ellis co-presented with Kevin Culhane and Jeffrey Nevin a seminar titled "Rules and Procedures for Federal Court Success" in Santa Rosa on Nov. 12, Sacramento on Nov. 16, and Fresno on Nov. 30, 2007. The seminar focused on the rules and procedures particular to federal court covering case filings, discovery, evidence, expert witnesses and more. Mark Ellis joined Bonnie Anderson and E. Warren Gubler to present "FDCPA Compliance for the California Practitioner" on Jan. 11, 2008. This seminar will covered the dos and don'ts in trying to collect a debt. California Association of Collectors
Mark Ellis and June Coleman were part of a legal panel at a seminar presented by the California Association of Collectors at its 90th annual convention held in Monterey in October 2007. The panel discussed issues and legal trends regarding FDCPA, the Rosenthal FDCPA, and the Identity Theft Act.

Theresa LaVoie was quoted an expert on equine law in an August 20, 2007 article titled "Holding Their Horses: Attorneys Bone Up, Ride Into a Growing Legal Niche."

American Collectors Association International
June Coleman was selected in July 2007 to serve as 2007-2009 State Chair of the Members Associate Program (MAP) of the American Collectors Association International. Ms. Coleman serves as liaison between MAP at the national level and MAP members within California to promote the partnership between attorneys and their ACA International member clients. She takes calls and is available as a legal resource as her schedule permits, including speaking engagements and authoring articles.

Theresa LaVoie and June Coleman, president and vice president respectively of Sacramento Women Lawyers, were featured in an article on SWL's new officers. in the April 2007 edition of The Sacramento Lawyer, a magazine published by the Sacramento County Bar Association.

The firm was featured in a October 24, 2006 article that focused on half the firm's equity partners being women. "From a practical standpoint, our firm is looking at the increasing number of women starting their own businesses, and they relate to women as attorneys," partner June Coleman told the publication. "National companies and Fortune 500 companies are going out of their way to find firms that have diverse backgrounds, whether in terms of gender or race, and it will help our firm in finding new clients."
