Our partners possess nationwide reputations in defending collection professionals and law firms sued under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and their state law equivalents. We also possess extensive experience in handling complex litigation, including class actions under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23 and under California’s Unfair Competition Law, Business and Professions Code § 17200.

Founding and Managing Partner Mark E. Ellis has defended hundreds of professional malpractice cases. He has won more than 30 cases on behalf of lawyers and law firms he has defended at trial. In 2010, he was listed under the specialty of Legal Malpractice Law in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers of America.

For the last seven years, Mr. Ellis has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer. Partners Andrew Steinheimer and Daniel McGee, as well as associate Jennifer Gregory, were also recognized in 2010 by SuperLawyers.com as "Rising Stars", that is, up-and-coming attorneys 40 years old or younger.
